Following a career working for the national agency for sport in Scotland (and two boys later!) I was keen to get out from behind the desk and make exercise accessible and fun for all East Lothian mums. After re-training as a fitness instructor with a specialist qualification in ante and post natal exercise I set up buggymoves fitness in East Lothian.
With little by way of fitness classes in East Lothian that offered the added benefit of exercising with your baby, I felt passionately about offering an exercise class specifically designed with mums in mind, where you can regain your pre-pregnancy shape, meet other new mums in an outdoor environment and share the fun and fresh air with your baby. And for those who find the concept of joining a running club a little daunting, the Mums on the Run classes provide a gentle pathway into running by building up the distance week on week until you're running approx. 5km on a regular basis.
